Biography

Eric Flores, "El Chavalon," is a singer, songwriter, and producer, specializing in classic rhythmic Tejano music. A native of Victoria, Texas, Eric developed a deep-rooted love for Tejano music, which was nurtured by his parents, Cecilio and Mary Helen Flores. 

In 1985, Eric began his musical endeavors by turning his garage into a musical venue of enrichment. Eric immersed himself in studying and practicing piano, guitar, saxophone, and various other instruments. Eric fine-tuned his craft by studying with local musicians and receiving formal classical and jazz instruction while attending Del Mar College, Corpus Christi, TX. 

At the age of 17, Eric's enthusiasm for Tejano music led to a tremendous opportunity. In 1994, Eric earned a lead saxophone and back-up vocalist position with Gavino Guerrero of La Sombra. Eric went on to pursue an extensive career with La Sombra, Bobby Pulido, Roberto Pulido, and the Kumbia Kings. Throughout his career, Eric has earned accolades from the Latin Grammy Committee, Latin Billboards, and Premio Lo Nuestro while recording under Capitol EMI Latin. In May of 2022, Eric will be inducted into the Tejano Music Hall of Fame.

As a solo artist, Eric is compiling original rhythmic, classical, and cumbia style Tejano music that will entice everyone to dance the night away. Stay tuned for his new releases.
